The Park is open to the general public from dawn to dusk. This regulation will be strictly adhered to except where written permission is given for a specific purpose (i.e. astronomy). The Deed of Trust entered into by Mr. Schock stated that the area shall be held in trust as a playground and public park. The Environmental Center is open Thursday through Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday 1:00-4:00 pm.
Directions to the Park: Gov.Dick Park is located along Pinch Rd between Rt 72 North of Manheim and Rt 117 in Mt.Gretna. For more detailed directions check MapQuest or call the park at (717)964-3808.
Hunting and shooting is prohibited and alcohol beverages, smoking of cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco shall also be prohibited at all times.
According to the Trust, the Park is for the enjoyment of persons traveling on foot and no auto, vehicle, or mobile machinery shall be allowed to move or travel upon the roads in the Park.
Biking and horseback riding is presently permitted in the Park. All trails presently are marked for multi-use. The Board will monitor trails for ecological impact and those trails deemed to be threatened by heavy use of biking and/or horseback riding will be designated for foot travel only.
The Board solicits everyone's help in maintaining this beautiful scenic park.
